This year’s Active Hastings Summer Holiday programme has been a huge success, with 55 free or low cost sessions running throughout the summer holidays.
The summer holiday programme attracted over 500 attendees, who took part in a range of activities including: the Active Hastings Street Bite sessions (Holiday Activity and Food Programme), Summer Sports 20th Anniversary Celebration Event, ultimate frisbee, football, street sports road show, arts and sports in the park, rugby, beach volleyball and family fun days.
Terry Cooper, Active Hastings Youth Development Officer said:
“It has been wonderful to see so many children enjoying our summer holiday programme this year. The programme has provided young people with opportunities to stay active, have fun, develop new skills and spend time with friends throughout the holidays.
“We would like to thank all the young people who took part over the summer and made the sessions so much fun, as well as our dedicated Active Hastings team whose hard work made the programme possible. We would also like to thank all the funders who supported this year's summer holiday programme: East Sussex County Council, Safer Hastings Partnership, Balfour Beatty and The Million Hours Fund from The National Lottery and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and to the National Literacy Trust for providing free books for our Street Bite attendees.”

“It has been fantastic to see so many children taking part in the Active Hastings Summer Holiday Programme this year. From trying new activities and building confidence to making friends and learning new skills, the programme has provided young people with plenty of opportunities to have fun and stay active.”
Active Hastings is hosted by Hastings Borough Council, in partnership with East Sussex County Council, and brings together a wide range of local and national partners to ensure everyone in Hastings can get active.
